Coach Profile:

Coach Juan Jose Lendes Paneque- is a graduate from the University of Habana and is licensed in Physical Culture and Sport Management. Coach spent two years after his University degree specializing in “Fencing” and became certified by the International Fencing Association (F.I.E) in Sabre.

• 1995 Individual Silver Medal in the Pan American Games — Cadet.
  
• 1996 Gold Medal Junior Team, at the Pan American Games.
  
• Was the Cuban National Champion two years in a row in Cadet and at junior categories.
  
• 1998 World Cup 53/178 Men’s Foil.
  
• 2000 Grand Prix finished 52 out of 178 Men’s Foil was a referee in two World Cup events one in 2006 and 2007.
  
• Coach Jose while in Cuba had a long career in training fencers who have achieved National, as well as, International success.

Coach Profile:

After only two years under his guidance, Coach Manny earned his first championship in foil. Coach Manny retired from Shell Oil as Project Manager for the Shell 405 Catalyst. Since his retirement in 2004 from Shell, Coach Manny has been teaching fencing at a local academy and teaching fencing at various school districts in the Houston area.Coach Manny and Fort Bend Fencing Academy have met all of the requirements specified by the United States Fencing Association: liability insurance, completion of the “Safe Sport” program, and the mandatory police background check.
